Marshall is 2, Let's Tailgate!

I had all kinds of ideas for a 2nd birthday party for Marshall, but in the end we decided on a small gathering with mostly family and close family friends at our house.  We made it football themed and called it a tailgate party.
For favors we gave navy and white pom pons and footballs.  Since Travis and I don't agree on college teams, we somewhat went with Titans colors with Bama and Vols sprinkled throughout.  I had most of the decorations, so we definitely kept it easy and simple.

I have to thank both of the grandmothers for helping set up, clean up and make the food.  I couldn't have done it without them!  Also Aunt MiMi found the precious cupcake toppers that were also football rings for the kids along with someone to do the cake and brought serving pieces and the Chick Fila nuggets.

We asked people to dress in their favorite team colors.  Yes, MiMi and Luke also have a divided house.
I bought a jersey style shirt for Marshall off of Etsy.

Sweet Taylor Townsend.  Don't let the Shirley Temple curls fool you.  This girl is a mess!

Craig couldn't make the cake this year, but we still let him come to the party with the girls ;)

Marshall didn't quite understand everyone singing to him.  Up until this weekend, he was still saying "Happy Bday Max".  Bubba had to help blow out the candles.

Sweet Audrey made the trip from Murray, KY.  This precious little girl makes me want one of my own!
Marshall got lots of great stuff including a new big boy dinosaur backpack.  As you can see, Bubba also helped open the gifts even though Marshall really didn't need him.

The kids spent the rest of the party playing outside.  The next two shots have to be my favorite.  The Overbey kids and the boys played so well together and it was so much fun to watch them take turns driving and riding in the Gator.  It was the only way we could get a picture of them together!

Marshall's birthday actually isn't until the 21st, but since that is the week of Thanksgiving we opted for an early party.  We have other plans to celebrate his actual birthday.  His special day isn't over yet!
