Vz Weekend

It's been a couple of years since we had a Veazey Family weekend, so this year we chose a new destination closer to home at Paris Landing State Park cabins. Twenty-six attended including Grandmother and Granddaddy, so we rented 2 cabins for the entire weekend. It was nothing short of a miracle that the weekend worked out where everyone could attend, the weather was perfect and we got the cabins. These cabins usually only rent for a minimum of 6 nights, but we just so happened to pick a weekend where these cabins were empty and they were happy to fill them even if for only 2 nights. Here's Marshall helping us pack up. I use the word "help" lightly as it was also a sheer miracle that the boys and I even made it to Paris since he continuously unpacked everything I packed and cried when he saw his belongings going into the bags.
The Duke Vz family has a boat, so we enjoyed all kinds of water activities from tubing to fishing to just riding. Poor Marshall and Aiden were at in between ages. Marshall was too big to play with the baby girls, but too little to hang with the big kids. Aiden desperately needs Marshall to catch up because he isn't quite big enough for the big kids either. Still, neither were left behind on the fun. Next year will be perfect for these two!

We planned a family picture, but that didn't work out. There was just too much fun to be had and food to be eaten to get ready. It was a great weekend to relax and just enjoy family. I so hope we get to do it again next year and if it works out exactly the way it did this summer then it will be nothing short of the perfect weekend.
