Enchanted Forest

It's been a few years since we've visited the Enchanted Forest Christmas Tree display at the Pink Palace.  In fact, it was before we were even expecting Marshall, so Jack didn't remember it at all.  He learned about it this year at school and started asking to go at the beginning of November.  The Enchanted Forest is a fundraiser for Le Bonheur Children's Hospital located in the Pink Palace Museum.  Different businesses and organizations sponsor and decorate trees and there are several characters with lights and music throughout along with a train and a gingerbread house display.  Luke, MiMi and Baby Boyd met us there and we thought it would be a great photo op with Santa.

We were wrong.  Boyd wasn't having it.

Luckily, I'm out of the scared of Santa phase with my two.

Marshall was infatuated with the train display.  It was hard to get him to leave it.

They had a scavenger hunt that both boys enjoyed doing with Uncle Luke.

And we thought the moose might not be as scary as Santa, so we tried for another picture.  When we take pictures of these three, it's hard for me not to post them all.  It's just hilarious to see them interact.

Boyd has learned to clap his hands.

He's so stinking cute, I had to get more of him.

Jack's school participated in another fundraiser for Le Bonheur called "Pennies for Penguins".  One week in November they brought in a bag of pennies on Monday, nickels on Tuesday, dimes on Wednesday, quarters on Thursday and dollar bills on Friday.  All money raised went to Le Bonheur and for every $50 raised a patient at Le Bonheur got a stuffed penguin. 

It was too far away for me to get a good picture with my cell phone camera, but this penguin had Jack's class name on it.

After going through the forest with Boyd, I took my boys to back-to-back Christmas movies in the Imax theater on-site, "The Light Before Christmas" and "Santa v/s the Snowman".  Both were precious and once we were done there, we had to go through the forest a few more times.  If you're in the Memphis area and need an indoor Christmas activity, I highly recommend this one.
