It's become a tradition for me to take the boys back to Paris the last weekend in April for Paris's World's Biggest Fish Fry. This was the 58th year for this celebration and it was a whirlwind trip for us. I picked up the boys from school at 2:30 on Thursday, we headed straight for Paris, got haircuts, ate a quick supper and rushed to the fairgrounds for family night at the rodeo. We being Mom, my boys, my uncle Duke, aunt Lucretia, their oldest grandkids, Riley and Aiden, Adam, Rachel and Harrison Steedly and me. Before going into the arena, we paid a visit to the Budweiser Clydesdales. Jack was terrified at first and wouldn't get too close for a picture, but when we returned Friday night for the carnival we had to see them again. Here's Duke with Aiden, Riley and Jack.
These are the only pictures I got of the boys at the rodeo. Family night at the rodeo means $5 entry for adults and kids get in free. It also means you'll see more clowns than cowboys. The kids were entertained, but next year I think we'll fork out the extra money for weekend tickets. Of course, we didn't leave before enjoying jumbo lemonades, cotton candy and a caramel apple. YUM!
