We had big plans for Fish Fry weekend and those plans were only partially dampened by my poison ivy outbreak. I had to go to urgent care first thing Saturday morning for a steriod shot. More on that later. When I returned to Mom and Dad's, we packed up the kids and headed to the catfish races. Once they were over, we met Dad and my granddaddy at the farm for a picnic lunch and some fishing. Little did we know, Uncle Duke was there planting, so the kids got a bonus ride in the tractor. Duke made a friend for life in Marshall. He wouldn't get out of his lap at Mom and Dad's that night and he walked up to Stan thinking he was Duke and said "I like your tractor!"
Yes, that's my mom in the cab with Jack. When Jack was retelling this story to Travis, he said "Sissy rode in the tractor with me. Is that a little goofy?"
Granddaddy showing the boys his garden.
Jack and Granddaddy digging for worms. This is proof that boys never grow out of their obsession with digging in the dirt for creatures.
In no particular order, here are the pictures from our afternoon of fishing at the Vz farm. The were biting like crazy. Every time we dropped a line in, they bit. The boys had a ball! Marshall caught the only bass of the day and in my opinion, I caught the biggest fish overall. We threw them all back, but it was so much fun! Here are a couple of videos of the boys' catches.
